Baltimore City Nineteenth-Century Photos

Edward Hitselberger

This image is a tin-type, a photo made on tin with a black lacquered back. The original is very crisp and sharp ... unfortuntely this scanned image is a bit dark. It is held in a paper frame about the same size as a carte-de-visite (CDV). The photo studio was J. Henry Rooney located at 78 West Baltimore Street, "opposite the Dime Museum." Rooney was in business at this address between 1880 and 1886.
