Nellie and J. J. Hohmann

Nellie and J. J. Hohmann

This is a great photo with an interesting story.

Nellie Hohmann was born 29 May 1908 to  J.J. Hohmann and
Rebecca [possibly Simmons] Hohmann in Baltimore. Nellie's full
name was Eleanor Rose Lydia Hiapatia Hohmann. She was raised by
a neighbor, Lynn Fowler. At age six years she was placed in
St. Anthony's Orphanage, probably shortly after this photo was made.

J. J. Hohmann, who was a good deal older than Nellie's mother,
ended up in Nacozari de Garcia, Mexico and later in Boise, Idaho
searching for gold.

Sheree Blackmer who submitted this photo is the grand daughter of
Nellie Hohmann Atwell and she is attempting to reach any
surviving family or those who may know more about her ancestry.
