Joseph J. Schmidt, son of Frank Joseph Schmidt,
Sr. and Cecelia Clemsen
was born in Baltimore on 10 October 1890. The christening
photo on the left was made in the Betz Studio at
417 North Washington Street.
Joseph enlisted for duty in World War I from Baltimore
on 27 July 1917.
He served as an ambulance driver for the camp Shelby
Hospital and was
discharged 13 October 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.
