N. J. Seal

This carte-de-visite was made by Palmer Lenfield Perkins who established his daguerreotype studio in Baltimore as early as 1846. The image seen here was made between 1860 and 1870 when the business was located at 205 and 207 West Baltimore Street. The only problem with identifying the subject as N. J. Seal is that the name is in parentheses and the "S" in the surname looks a lot like the 'S' that identifies the seller from whom I bought the picture (see SHB $2 at top). So, "buyer beware" ... this may not really be Mr. N. J. Seal!
