Ferdinand Wagner created this Carte-de-Visite of
Josephine Johnson Smithson. Wagner's studio was located at 63 West Baltimore
Street from 1863 through 1886. Wagner, who was a native of Prussia was
first described as a "daguerreotypist" and later a photographer. He is
last found in the city directories about 1904. Notice that Smithson's cheeks
have been colorized.
