A GREAT collection of photos!
The one above is probably from the mid
to late 1880s, identified by the location of the
photo studio. The image below (no studio logo)
is likely about 1910 range. Notice the background
street scene. You can even see the wood grain of
the door panel!

An A.K. Smoot is found in the 1880 Baltimore City
Census index.
He was born in 1840 in Virginia. His wife was C.A.
Smoot born in 1845.
Children included daughter Lizie A. aged 11 from
Virginia and son
Cleaber S. aged 7 from Virginia. Fredie G. was
born in Maryland four
years earlier. Also in the household were niece
Laura Dobbins, and
""others"" W.W. and John Smoot both males, both
22 and both
from Virginia.
