* [page 312] In the name of God Amen I Thomas Mann of the parish of Dale in the county of Chesterfield being of sound and perfect mind and memory Blesed be God, do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following (Viz)
* First, I give and bequeath to my son Francis Mann and his heirs and assigns one shilling sterling.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Mann and to his heirs and asigns forever the Land and plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred acres more or less, as also one negro boy named Peter, as also one negro woman named Sukey and all her increase.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my son William Mann and to his heirs and assigns forever the land whereon he now lives, and Bounded by the lands of George West and [?Carl] Blankenship and the land I now live on it containing fifty acres more or less.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Howerton and to his [sic] heirs and assigns forever Two negroes to wit Tab and George.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my Daughter in Law Marth Mann wife of Thomas Mann, one negroe girl named Chane[one or more letters at page edge] and all her increase as also my roan horse and side saddle [page 313] and bridle as also one small gilt trunk at her own disposal.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter Elizabeth Mann Daughter of Thomas Mann and to her heirs and assigns forever one negro girl named Hannah as also one Feather bed and furniture and my little chest, as also two Pewter Dishes and two pewter basons. if my grand- Daughter Elizabeth Mann dies before she arives to the age of Twenty one years without a lawful Issue I give and devise the said negroe girl Hannah and all her Increase to my son Thomas Mann and to his heirs and assigns forever, as also the bed and Furniture the chest and Dishes and basons.
* Item, I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter Priscilla Howerton one Feather bed and Furniture
* Item. My will is that the houshold and kitchen Furniture may be equally divided between my son Thomas Mann and my Daughter Mary Howerton.
* Item. Also my will and desire is that all the residue of my estate without doors may be equeally divided between Danial Mann John Mann and William Mann my three sons. my will and desire is that my estate may not be appraised.
* Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and apoint my son Thomas Mann to be executor of this my last will and Testament hereby revoaking and diso[r]daining all other [page 314] former wills by me heretofore made either by word or in writing ratifying and confirming this to be my only will and testament In Witness whereof I have here[to] set my hand and affixed my seal this third day of March in the year of our lord Christ, one Thousand sev[en] hundred and seventy
