Miller family cemetery, Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio. I did not visit this cemetery. The information is from “Monroe County, Ohio Records” by Catharine F. Fedorchak, Volume V. Catharine did a reading of this cemetery in October 1966 with Mrs. Urban Heft. The cemetery is not too far from her uncle’s house. It is on a hillside across a creek from the road – between Marr and Sycamore Valley. I think perhaps the creek may be known as Indian Creek – at least Hardesty’s History says that the Jacob Miller who is buried here was one of the first settlers in Bethel township, along Indian Creek, settling in 1817. His son, John Miller, was the first child born in Bethel Township. Jacob Miller’s wife was Rebecca Martin Miller. Additional information about the location, also in CFF’s Vol 5: This cemetery which I am calling the Miller cemetery is on a hillside, across a creek from the road. It is difficult to see in the summertime, with the foliage. However, in October, some of the foliage had disappeared, and we were able to spot it through the trees, as we knew about where to look. We left our car at Mr. Clarence McVay’s house – he is Mrs. Heft’s uncle – and worked out way back through his cow pasture, and into another field which was waist deep in goldenrod and briars – we finally managed to walk the ridge and crawl through several barbed wire fences, back to the cemetery. This cemetery is in findagrave but there are no pictures.
