SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP.
DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MRS. J. CORNELIUS. - The death occurred on Tuesday of Mrs. Emily CORNELIUS, wife of Mr. Jehu CORNELIUS, of Shepton Beauchamp. Mrs. CORNELIUS, who passed away at the age of 57, had had a long and painful illness. The funeral took place at the Parish Church on Saturday, and was fully choral. The service was conducted by the Rev. Preb. A. LETHBRIDGE, assisted by the Rev. E. A. E. GILL. The hymns sung were “Nearer, my God, to Thee,” and “Brief life is here our portion.” Miss S. ROWSWELL presided at the organ. The mourners were: Mr. CORNELIUS (widower); the Misses Edna and Cissie CORNELIUS and Mrs. REYLAND (daughters); Mr. Tom CORNELIUS and Mr. Harry CORNELIUS (sons); Mrs. GLOVER and Mrs. G. NEWIS (sisters); Mrs. T. CORNELIUS (daughter-in-law); Mr. P. REYLAND (son-in-law); Mrs. A. POND (sister-in-law); Messrs. W. CORNELIUS, J. CORNELIUS, W. GLOVER, and G. N. NEWIS (brothers-in-law); Mrs. E. DRAYTON and Mrs. S. BEST (nieces); and Mrs. D. ENGLAND and Mrs. S. WELCH (friends). Members of the Mothers' Union also walked to show their last tribute of respect. The bearers were:- Messrs. Fred CORNELIUS, W. CORNELIUS, Ed. CORNELIUS, H. NEWIS, L. POND, and L. WELCH. Fifty-seven wreaths were sent by relatives and friends, and amongst them was a cross from the Mothers' Union, of which deceased was a member.
