TAUNTON LICENSEE
DEATH OF MRS. S. ROWSELL
Mrs. Laura ROWSELL, licensee of the Crown Hotel, High-street, Taunton, died suddenly early on Tuesday morning. Aged 48, Mrs. ROWSELL was the widow of Mr. Sam ROWSELL, who died on active service with the Royal Marines, about 20 months ago. Mrs. ROWSELL had lived in Taunton for about 40 years, and for the past 14 years had been at the Crown Hotel. She was treasurer of the Women's Trade Defence Association.
The funeral service took place at St. John's Church on Friday, the Vicar, the Rev. W. JENNINGS, officiating. The interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Principal mourners were: Mr. and Mrs. A. GREENSLADE (brother-in-law and sister); Miss E. BOOBYER (sister); Mr. and Mrs. A. ROWSELL (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mrs. L. CORNISH (sister-in-law), and Mrs. N. LAMPRIERE, of Plymouth (friend).
Messrs. E. E. White & Son, of East Reach, Taunton, carried out the funeral arrangements.
