ORCHARD PORTMAN.
FUNERAL OF MISS JANE BOND.
PASSING OF OLDEST INHABITANT
Amid the manifestation of the affection and respect in which she was held there were laid to rest on Monday, in the churchyard in Orchard Portman Great Field, the remains of Miss Jane BOND, who for 41 years has resided at the Rectory. She was 93 years of age, and was the last descendant to reside at Orchard Portman of a family which settled there 200 years ago, and which has been continuously represented in the parish since 1732.
In spite of her great age she maintained a wonderful memory, and to the end her interest in present-day affairs was unflagging. Her garden was her special joy, and she had been a life-long subscriber to the Taunton Flower Show. She will be greatly missed among her wide circle of relatives and friends, whose visits were a constant delight to her.

SINGLETON, the hymns sung being “How sweet the name of Jesus sounds” and “The King of Love.” The family mourners were:- Miss BOND, O.B.E., Miss LANNING, Miss E. W. BOND, Mr. and Mrs. A. B.
