Below
are over twelve muster roll and pay lists for a detachment under Capt.
John Stinson. The lists refer to the regiment using various terms but
the "Regiment of Prince Edward Light Dragoons" [341] is probably the
most formal but various terms such as "Stinson's Detachement of Troops"
or "Prince Edward Dragoons" are used. On Page 391 the regiment is
referred to as "One Troop" implying there may be a second.
Dragoons were intended to be a mounted unit. See this Wikipedia page on the Canadian units in the War of 1812.
All names were written as
surname/forename and they have been reversed for easier reading. Names are transcribed as written. Not
transcribed are the number of days each man was present during the
period and the pay owing.
