In a newspaper article dated Saturday, November 24, 1994 in the Standard Freeholder of Cornwall, Ontario, titled: "Bonville was famous for it's cheese" about the Bonville cheese factory. A cheese factory was constructed around 1910, known as Glencoe Cheese. The factory was operated by J.S.Myers until 1916 when it was sold to Herbert Cooper.

Mr. and Mrs. J.S.Myers of Cornwall Township were the principals at a unique event on Tuesday evening at the home of their daughter, Mrs.George Helmer nee Clara Myers and Mr. Helmer at Newington when guests to the number of 180 surprised them on their golden wedding anniversary.
Elizabeth Graham and J.S.Myers were married at Trinity Church, Cornwall on September 27, 1882 by Canon C.B.Pettie. Mrs.Joseph Kilgour, of Cornwall, then Bessie Campbell was bridesmaid and William Graham acted as groomsman.
Relatives and friends came from Newington, Cornwall, Eighth Line, Martintown and Watertown N.Y.
Mr. and Mrs. Myers were driven over from their house to Newington by George Helmer and the celebration was a complete surprise to them.
The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion by Mrs. James Graham and Mrs. Rita Hill.
During the evening, Mr. and Mrs. Myers were the recipients of several gifts to mark the happy occasion.
These consisted of a purse of money and several gold pieces to the amount of $80; a leather chair from the family and Mr. and Mrs. James Graham; a pair of walnut end tables from Eigth Line friends and other gifts.
Two addresses were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Myers, one by James McLaughlin and A.A.R.McGillis, who presented a chime clock; the other by Rev.R.S.V.Cr_ssley, of Newington.
The evening was spent playing progressive euchre at 20 tables. Prizes were won by Mrs. Charles Russell and Mrs. Stanley Eamer for the women, and George Rupert for the men.
Cards were followed by a delightful luncheon and dancing later.Mysic was furnished by S. Rousseau and Misses Mary and Francis Farrell.
The aged bride was dressed in golden brown transparent velvet with eggshell trimming.
The hostess and daughter, Mrs. George Helmer, was charmingly gowned in wine coloured crepe with shoulder bow of cream crepe
The members of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Myers are James Myers, Cornwall; Cyril Myers, Eighth Line; Jack Myers, Northfield; Mrs. Bert Mattice (Bessie), Moulinette; Mrs. George Helmer (Clara), Newington; and 20 grandchildren, all of whom were present.
Two members of the family are deceased: Philip Myers drowned at Massena at the age of 24 years; and Lindsay Myers, accidentally killed at Lunenburg in 1919.

To-night we have assembled to extend to you our heartiest congratulations on this the fiftieth anniversary of your marriage.
On Sept. 27,1882, fifty years ago today, you began life together and the years since then have added joys and sorrows to your lives but despite the odds of life you were always there to smile. Any social or business gathering didn't seem natural without your ready joke or laugh to cheer it on and in time of need or trouble you were always ready with a willing hand to offer assistance to neighbors and friends.
So now we ask you to accept this clock as a remembrance and sincerely hope that as the hours tick on, you may enjoy them in the best of health and happiness.

Cornwall Ont. March 11--
(Special) With many friends and relatives attending, the funeral was held for Mrs. J. S. Myers, respected resident of the eighth line at Cornwall township.
Service was conducted at Trinity Church here by Rev. J. H. Allen, rector of St.Augustine's Church, and the body was placed in the vault until Spring for internment at Woodlawn cemetery.
Chief mourners were her husband, three sons, Cyril on the homestead, John H. of Northfield, and James H. Myers of Cornwall; two daughters, Mrs. George Helmer, Newington, and Mrs. Bert Mattice of Moulinette; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Among the many floral tributes were sprays from the Women's Association and Guild of All Saints Church, Newington.
In her 84th year, Mrs. Myers was born in Martintown, the former Elizabeth Graham, a daughter of the late William Graham and his wife, Sarah Clyde, who came from Belfast Ireland, in 1840. Fifty-seven years ago, she married J. S. Myers. A member of St.Augustine's Anglican Church, Eighth Line, she was a keen worker in the Ladies' Guild.

J.S. (Ves) Myers District Farmer Dies Thursday
Friends throughout this district will regret to learn of the death of John Sylvester (Ves) Myers which occured at his home, R.R.#2 Northfield Station, during the noon hour Thursday. Mr. Myers had not been well for some time and had been in serious condition for 2 weeks. Well known as a salesman on the Cornwall Cheese Board, he had a wide connection among the dairymen of the district and his death will be sincerely regretted. He was 87 years of age.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters--Mrs. Bert Mattice, Moulinette; Mrs. Claire Helmer, Newington; John Myers, Northfield Station; Cyril Myers on the homestead; James Myers, Cornwall.
He also leaves a brother Hiram Myers, in the West.
The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, leaving his home at 1:30 o'clock for service in Trinity Parish Church, Cornwall at 2:30 o'clock. Internment in Woodlawn cemetery.

Final Tribute Is Paid Memory J.S.(Ves) Myers
With many friends and relatives present from Cornwall and other points in the district to pay a last tribute of respect to an aged and respected resident; the funeral of John Sylvester (Ves) Myers was held Saturday afternoon from his home, Eighth Line, Cornwall, to Trinity Parish Church and Woodlawn cemetery, Cornwall.
The serrvice at the church and grave was conducted by Rev. C.V.Maxwell, rector of St.Augustine Church, Eighth Line, assisted at the church by Ven. H.A.E.Clarke, M.A. Archdeacon of Cornwall, rector of Trinity Parish Church. Hymns sung were "Oh God Of Bethel" and "Now The Strife Is O'er". Earle G. Poole, organist and choir director, presided at the console.
Pall bearers were six grandsons--Earl Myers and Eugene Myers, Cornwall; Vincent Myers and Ford Myers, Martintown; Basil Myers and Grant Myers, Eighth Line.
Attending the funeral were Lawrence Myers, Ottawa, grandson; Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Thompson and son, Earl Thompson, Aultsville; R.J.Clyde, Mr and Mrs. James Graham, Martintown; Mr. and Mrs. George A. Helmer, and daughter, Miss Sonia Helmer, Newington; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mattice, Moulinette; and many relatives and friends from all sections of the district and Cornwall.
Beautiful floral tributes were placed about the casket by relatives and friends, showing the high regard in which Mr. Myers was held and the regret felt at his death. The family received many messages of condolence.

Died On Thursday
Mr. Myers died during the noon hour Thursday at his home on the Eighth Line, aged 87 years. He was born on the homestead, a son of Philip Myers and his wife Catherine Cline.
For several terms, he represented the ratepayers in the Township Council.
He was owner of Bonville Cheese Factory and acted as salesman on the Cornwall Cheese Board for some years. He contracted a cold, which developed into pneumonia, from the effects of which he passed peacefully away.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-- Mrs. Bert Mattice, Moulinette; Mrs. George A. Helmer, Newington; John Myers, Northfield Station; Cyril Myers, on the homestead; James Myers, Cornwall.
He also leaves a brother, Hiram Myers, Vancouver, B.C.
Mr. Myers was predeceased by two sons --Philip Myers and Lindsay Myers.
Also left are 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
