Louis J. Schneider, WWII Army Photos

Back to Lou Schneider's military history summary

Here are some pictures culled from the many Lou Schneider had taken during his Army career. They include a photo of the Marham Hotel, probably when his mother visited him in Gulfport, Mississippi during the summer of 1943 while he was in an Airplane Mechanic Course, and pictures taken when his Dad visited him in Seattle for the Christmas of 1943. The pictures taken at home, 1923 Glynn Ct., Detroit, Michigan (two lots south of Twelfth Street), with his Mom & Dad and sisters Eve Ann and Sue (Marilyn is absent), are from February of 1944, prior to his overseas tour of duty, which began August 13, 1944. This is known because of the telegram he sent on February 6, 1944 to his parents concerning his arrival home that evening by train.

One picture taken August 25, 1945 includes Lou with his inspection crew in the 499th Bombardment Group.
