Obit - Dec 19, 1908 The Evening Independent - Stark Co. OH

Mrs. Ellen Thorp Whitmer, aged 61years died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mahon Baker at East End, Saturday Morning at 7:30 o'clock, after an illness of a year and a half. The deceased leaves one daughter, Mrs. Mahon Baker, and many relatives and friends. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Baker in East End and later from the United Brethren church at Navarre. Internment will be made at the Union Lawn Cemetery at Navarre.

note: It is believed that the daughter listed above is actually Ellen's step daughter.

In the name of the benevolent father of all I Ellen Whitmer of the County of Stark, in the State of Ohio, do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following. That is to say,
First: It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second: I give and desire to the legal heirs of my brother, Moses Thorp, the sum of six hundred dollars which shall be divided between them equally share and share alike, and which said sum of money shall be paid to them from any money or other property or interests that I may own at my death after paying my funeral expenses and just debts, as herein before are ordered.
Third: I devise and give to whoever shall druing my lifetime and in my last feebleness and illness keep maintain and properly support me. All my undivided interest in and to about twenty seven acres of land being in the south east part of the north west quarter of section number two: Bethlehem Township, Stark County, Ohio. and being the same lot or tract of land I now live on.
In testemony whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of September A.D. 1900 Ellen Whitmre (signature)

Codicil to my last will Massillon Ohio. I revoke the part of my will in which I gave six hundred dollars ($600.00) to my brothers Moses Children or heirs and make it only two hundres dollars ($200.00) This is my request to change my former will dated this 27 day of November 1908.
