Note: Researchers have listed Martha Westmoreland as John's wife and Robert Westmoreland as Martha's father. This John Kirks lived next door to a Robert Westmoreland in 1830.
Given the birthplaces of the children, this family moved from VA to TN some time between 1837 and 1841. It appears that Martha probably died sometime between 1847 and 1850 given her absence from the 1850+ census records and 3 y.o. Phillip in 1850.
