Notes for Elmira DEARMAN
-----
Where did Elmira die and where is she buried?
Conversations with three of her grandaughters (Verda, Mallie, and Ella Dawes) have Elmira passing in her 60's. Verda said her grandmother was living with T.L. Ivey and his wife, Elmira's sister Lou, in Roff when she passed. Ella thought she lived in Okemah with one of her brother's sons and was buried in the country about 10-15 miles east of Okemah. She remembered taking a road near the post office from Okemah and placed the cemetery in the woods with no church or other distinguishing building nearby. According to Mallie, Myra doesn't have a head stone and is buried in a small cemetery near Okemah out in the country.
Mallie remembers that Elmira died while they were out visiting in Aug 1934.
Elmira was 65 and living with her son Gentry in Wewoka as of the 1930 census.
Calls to both Okemah and Wewoka funeral homes have yielded no information. Calls to the Criswell and Smith funeral homes in Roff also yielded nothing. She wasn't listed in Criswell from 1930-39 and a fire at Smith's destroyed the records from that time so it is unknown if she had been there.

Elmira can be found in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 census living with her son Gentry and his family.
