The book Jackson County (TN) Tombstone Records lists the following:
Eliza Dawes, born June 25, 1848, died May 5, 1889.
buried in the Vinson Graveyard "...located in the 5th civil district of Jackson County out north from Granvile on Highway 53, leading to Gainesboro, 6 miles to right on the Bascomb Byrnes farm, 6 miles on the Shepherdeville road, on the east side of said road, is the "Vincent" now spelled Vinson graveyard, a cedar grave on the south east side that has grown over the long ago graves. The best information we are able
to get is that this was on the land owned and settles by Uncle Jimmy Vincent and wife, Jennie Vincent. familiarly known and called by neighbors as 'He Jimmie and She Jensie.'..."
This graveyard was surveyed in the mid-1930s bny Maude McGlasson for
this book. She noted that there were many graves marked only by
rocks. Only about 20 graves are shown in the book.
