  JERSEYVILLE -- Thelma G. Scoggins, 86, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
  
  Born in Jerseyville on June 30, 1914, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Lora Mae (Summers) Allen.
  
  In the early years of her married life, she and her husband resided in the Kane area before moving to Jerseyville in the early 1940s. She worked as a waitress in area restaurants in Jerseyville, including the Green Leaf and Frank’s Restaurant. She had a long career with Jersey Community Unit School District 100 as a cook at West and East elementary schools, retiring in 1970 after 16 years of service.
  
  She married John B. Scoggins on July 4, 1930, in Jerseyville. They were married nearly 55 years before he died June 23, 1985.
  
  Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Scoggins Sr. of Jerseyville and Robert and Gerry Scoggins of Jerseyville; a daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie and Junior Crouse of Jacksonville; a son-in- law, Eddie Kallal of Union, Mo; 15 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, William and Ella Mae Allen of Jerseyville.
  
  An infant daughter, Norma Jean Scoggins, a daughter, Lora Mae Kallal, a son and daughter-in-law, Rollin and Gracie Scoggins, and a brother, Robert Allen, preceded her in death.
  
  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday.
  
  She will be laid to rest in Kane Cemetery.
  
  Memorials may be given to the Jersey County Health Department.²
