Deceased Name: Dorothy Bangert
Dorothy Manley Bangert, age 85, of Edwardsville, died on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at her residence.
She was born on June 18, 1921, in Troy, the daughter of the late Tilden and Mollie Riggin Manley.
She married Wilbur Bangert. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She is survived by a daughter: Carol Griner and husband, William; son: Richard Bangert and wife, Linda of Edwardsville; grandchildren: Jennifer Gott and husband, Eric, Steven Bangert and wife, Edy, and Deborah Elmore; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law: Gertrude Bangert Pfeiffer and husband, Willard of Edwardsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Orville, Russel, Harold and Walter Manley; a sister-in-law: Bernice Bangert; and a brother-in-law: Norman Warren.
Mrs. Bangert was a member of Eden United Church of Christ. Other memberships included being a Gray Lady at St. Joseph Hospital, a member of the Edwardsville Senior Citizens Center and Madison County Genealogical Society.
Private funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 1, at Saksa Mateer Funeral Home in Edwardsville with Rev. Dr. Ken Mesle officiating.
Interment will be at Friedens Cemetery in Troy.
Memorials are suggested to the Edwardsville Senior Citizens Center or Eden United Church of Christ.
