    Edward F Scroggins 92, of 1223 Front St. died Sunday at St. Charles Hospital. He was born october 18 1878 in Channahon, IL.
    He is survived by a daughter Miss Dorothy Scroggins of Aurora, a son, Paul Scroggins of Aurora and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jessie L Scroggins in 1952.
    Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Healy Chapel. The Rev. Richard Adamson and the Rev. Wesley Bettcher will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cmeetery.

    Josiah Scroggins died last eveing at his home 455 Clalim St. Aurora, IL of heart disease aged seventy-seven years. He was born in Indiana and was a carpenter by trade. the deceased leaves ten children, thirty-one grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
    The children residing in Aurora, IL are Joseph, Charles, Hiram, Edward, Anna, Mrs.Viola Cloyes, Mrs Ida Murray and Mrs A Christian.
    The funeral will be held at two o'clock Monday from the house and at 2:30 o'clock from the Claim STreet Baptist Church.


    Josiah was the son of Benjamin A Scroggins and Margaret Starnes Scroggins. He had 4 brothers that i know of: George Washington Scroggins, Sheppard Scroggins, Hiram A Scroggins, and William H Scroggins.
    Josiah was married to Mary Hicks Jan 21 1860 in Indiana. Mary is also referred to Polly Ann in some of the research i have done.
    It seems Josiah may have died from some sort of Heart Disease.

    Dorothy May Scroggins, 93, of Pekin, formerly of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Mardell Manor in Pekin, IL. She was born December 10, 1914 in Aurora, IL the daughter of the late Edward F. and Jessie L. (Watson) Scroggins.

    Dorothy was a former member of Claim St. Baptist Church where she was the organist for over 50 years playing for many weddings and funerals. She worked at Stillman Co. in Aurora. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and one of her favorite trips was a trip to the Holy Land in 1993.

    Survivors include cousins, nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Scroggins; and a sister-in-law, Hester Durham.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1:30 PM at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 PM until the service hour. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery.

    Charles E Scroggins, 90, of 900 Fifth St. died yesterday at his home. He was born sept 19 1870 in McHenry County. He was a member of the Claim Street Baptist Church and Jerusalem Temple Lodge No. 90 A.F. & A.M.
    He is survived by his widow Mrs Agnes Scroggins, with whom he celebrated their 64th Wedding anniversary April 22 1960, two daughters MRs Roy (Mildred) Stearns of Whittier, CA, Mrs Ruth Blank of Chicago, IL, three sons Charles H of San Diego, Earl M of Whittier CA, and RAlph E of Somonauk, 9 grandchildren, a sister MRs Anna Riddle of Aurora and a brother Edward Scroggins of Aurora.
    Funeral services will be held at the Healy CHapel at 1:30 pm Tuesday with Rev. Richard Adamson officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
