    Obituary from the Edwardsville Intelligencer (Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois), Friday, July 8, 1966:
    Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Priscilla Maxwell, 87, who had resided in Edwardsville 45 years, have been set for 1 p.m. Saturday from the First Baptist Church. The Rev. B.L. Moore will officiate and burial will be in Valley View Gardens of Memory.
    Mrs. Maxwell died Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. at Pleasant Rest Nursing Home, Collinsville, where she had been a patient two months.
    She had been a teacher of the Margaret Porter Bible class in the Baptist Church for 60 years. Mrs. Maxwell was a member of the Ladies Mission Society of the First Baptist Church. She was a former postmistress at Benld.
    Born Feb. 11, 1879 in Staunton, she was the daughter of Ebenezer and Nancy Sawyer Scroggins. Her husband, Elmer E. Maxwell, died July 25, 1958.
    Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. John Hagarty of Decatur and Mrs. Ray Christison of Oakley, and two stepsons, O.C. and R.W. Maxwell, both of Gramaliele, Ark. She was preceded in death by a brother.
    The body is in state at Lesley Marks Funeral Home where friends may call until 11 a.m. Saturday.
