Violet Scroggins
Violet M. Scroggins, nee Sharp, 72, of Cahokia, Ill., born Aug. 14, 1937, in McCrory, Ark., died Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Scroggins was the owner of Cahokia Heating and Air Conditioning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A. D. Scroggins; a son, Harry Scroggins; her parents, Prentice and Ethel Sharp; five brothers, Earl, Bobby, Victor, Matthew, and Leo Sharp; two sisters, Pauline Bewley and Betty Wheeler; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Scroggins.
Surviving are her three daughters, Deborah (Howard) Adamson of Cahokia, Ill., Yonnie (Carl) Coffman of Pontoon Beach, Ill., and Amber Scroggins of Omaha, Ark.; four sons, Phillip (Nancy) Portwood of Desoto, Mo., Danny (Terri) Scroggins of St. Louis, Mo., David Scroggins of Orlando, Fla., and Roger Dale (Debbie) Scroggins of Mascoutah, Ill.; her brother, Larry (Claudia) Sharp of St. Charles, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Bobby Wheeler of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Betty Sharp of Cahokia, Ill.; 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to everyone.

Harry Fredrick Scroggins, 53, of Cahokia, Ill., born Aug. 1, 1952, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital, East St. Louis, Ill.
Mr. Scroggins was retired from Cahokia Unit School District 187. He was a member of Cahokia Lyons Club.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. A.D. Scroggins; his birth mother, Carolyn Cook; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Scroggins.
Surviving are his mother, Violet Scroggins, nee Sharp of Cahokia, Ill.; four brothers, Phillip (Nancy) Portwood of DeSoto, Mo., Danny (Terri) Scroggins of St. Louis, Mo., David W. Scroggins of Orlando, Fla., and Roger "Dale" (Debbie) Scroggins of Mascoutah, Ill.; three sisters, Deborah (Howard) Adamson of Crawfordsville, Ind., Yonnie (Carl) Coffman of Pontoon Beach, Ill., and Amber Scroggins of Sauget, Ill.; his lifelong friend, Pam Schneeberger of Cahokia, Ill.; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation: A gathering will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral: Memorial service 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at Braun Colonial Funeral Home, Cahokia, Ill., with the Rev. James Wood officiating. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, Ill.
