    Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Reed Funeral Home,
    Sullivan, with Pastor Gene Godfrey officiating with Masonic rites. Visitation will be noon until services. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery. Memorials: Sullivan First Baptist Church.

    Mr. Neal was born Jan. 11, 1912, in Atwood, the son of Eugene
    and Zora Arthur Neal. He worked for the Sullivan School District and Illinois Highway Department. After his retirement, he was a handyman and "Jack of all trades." He was a member of Sullivan First Baptist Church and George A. Sentel Masonic Loge 764. He married Mildred Scroggins Feb. 6, 1933, in Findlay. She preceded him in death Aug. 17, 1979. He then married Charlene Fultz Sept. 5, 1981, in Sullivan. She preceded him in death March 26, 2001.

    Surviving are his sons, Wayne Neal of Brownsburg, Ind; Kenneth
    Neal of Liberty, Ind; daughter, Beverly Hutchcraft and husband Ernie of Sullivan; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his wives, two brothers, two sisters
    and one grandson.4

    SHELBYVILLE - Ernest E. Scrogin, 87, of Shelbyville, formerly of Findlay, died 4:25 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 9, 2002) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

    Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Revs. George Constant and David Beerbower officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery. Memorials: Mount Pleasant Church of God, Assumption.

    Mr. Scrogin was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Findlay, the son of William Orville and Dora Pearl Claypool Scrogin. He was a retired farmer and worked for many years at the Findlay High School and Findlay Lumber Yard. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Church of God. He married Evelyn Weakly on June 1, 1935. She preceded him in death Nov. 13, 1989. He married Carvell Simpson Herton Grubb on Aug. 25, 1990.

    Surviving are his wife; son, Carroll Scrogin and wife Kay of Moweaqua; daughter, Betty Miner of Decatur; sister, Gladys Bendler of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Debby Helton of Mount Zion; Bradley Scrogin of Rockford; Stephanie Crawford of Arlington, Texas; Shelly Waller of Mount Zion; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and sister, Mildred Neal.
