Scrogin, 87, of Shelbyville, formerly of Findlay, died 4:25 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 9, 2002) in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Revs. George Constant and David Beerbower officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery. Memorials: Mount Pleasant Church of God, Assumption.
Mr. Scrogin was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Findlay, the son of William Orville and Dora Pearl Claypool Scrogin. He was a retired farmer and worked for many years at the Findlay High School and Findlay Lumber Yard. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Church of God. He married Evelyn Weakly on June 1, 1935. She preceded him in death Nov. 13, 1989. He married Carvell Simpson Herton Grubb on Aug. 25, 1990.
Surviving are his wife; son, Carroll Scrogin and wife Kay of Moweaqua; daughter, Betty Miner of Decatur; sister, Gladys Bendler of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Debby Helton of Mount Zion; Bradley Scrogin of Rockford; Stephanie Crawford of Arlington, Texas; Shelly Waller of Mount Zion; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and sister, Mildred Neal.
