    Ruby Lee Richardson Howard, age 95, of Bonham died at Bonham Nursing Center on February 15, 2008. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 18, 2008 in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. W. C. “Bill” Beasley will officiate. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. at Wise Funeral Home.

    Ruby was born April 3, 1912 in the Delba Community of Fannin County, Texas, to loving parents, John D. Morgan and Martha Ellen Scroggins Morgan. She attended Delba and Randolph Schools. She was married to J.B. Richardson on March 23, 1930 by Methodist minister, W. R. Zimmerman of Bailey, TX. Ruby worked in the retail business and became a grocer in 1952, eventually owning and operating Richardson Grocery until her retirement in 1977. A resident of Bonham for over 50 years, she attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Fannin County Home Demonstration Club, the Bonham Woman’s Club, and the Ladies Auxiliary “Pink Ladies” for the Bonham hospital. Her husband of 29 years preceded her in death, Oct. 25, 1959. She was also preceded in death by one son, Glendon R. Richardson; parents, John and Ellen Morgan and four brothers. On May 24, 1982, she married Emmett H. Howard in Durant, OK. They resided in Grand Prairie, TX for 12 years and were members of First United Methodist Church. Ruby loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Her generosity was second only to her talent in gardening, crafting, quilting and preparing food for loved ones and the UMW ministry at church. The moved to Sherman in 1994 and Emmett preceded her in death Nov. 23, 2002.

    She is survived by her daughter, Betty Gilbert and husband, Owen of Sherman, TX; granddaughter, Gina Allen and husband, Gary of McKinney, TX; grandson, Douglas R. Gilbert of Denton, TX; great grandson, Ross Allen of Dallas; great granddaughter, Cristian Allen of Austin, TX; several nieces and nephews and her daughter-in-love, Margaret Richardson of Sherman, TX and Margaret’s children and grandchildren.

    Ruby had a smile that could light up a room and a heart that could light up a life.

    Pallbearers will be great grandson, Ross Allen, Gary Allen, Charles Morgan, Buddy Lacewell, Jerry Gilbert and Jackie Underwood.
