Lydia Jim "Lydie" Matlock
Funeral service for Lydia Jim "Lydie" Matlock, 85, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Pastor Mike Edmondson and Youth Pastor Todd Muckleroy of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at Isabell Chapel Cemetery. Lydia Jim "Lydie" Matlock passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Mrs. Matlock was born August 6, 1922, in Garrison, Texas, to James Ace Banks and Ola Mae Scroggins Banks. Mrs. Matlock was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved life, playing dominoes and reading. She was a lifetime resident of Nacogdoches, Texas. She is survived by sons, Thomas Orvin Matlock and wife, Susan, of Porter, Texas; and James Ray Matlock of Timpson, Texas; daughters, Barbara Ann Weatherly and husband, Joel, of Nacogdoches, Texas and Lydia Fay Williams and husband, Clifford, of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother, Raymond Banks of Garrison, Texas; and a sister, Georgia Mae Hutchinson of Nacogdoches, Texas. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Matlock was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday 21, 2008. Pallbearers will be Calvin Banks, Billy Banks, Clifford Williams Jr., John Grant, Danny Coats, Toby Banks. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 4922 FM 2864, Nacogdoches, Texas 75965. Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
