DELTONA - Vernon Louis Scroggins, 76, of Blaine Circle, a leader for Bud Company (automobile industry), died Friday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange.
Mr. Scroggins was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to this area in 2001 from Orlando. He was a member of Hart's Temple Church of God in Christ, DeLand, and was an outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Deborah; three sons, Duane Joy, Orlando, Michael Joy, Covington, Ga., and Louis Scroggins, Bowie, Md.; four daughters, Michele Summers and Virna McClain, both of Deltona, Laverne Trippett, Fort Washington, Md., and Annette Joy, Baltimore; a sister, Nellie Mayo; and many grandchildren. Mack, DeLand, is in charge.

HILLMAN JACQUELINE IRENE HILLMAN On Wednesday, May 28, 2008. Predeceased by son, Louis Scroggins. Beloved mother of LaVerne Triplett, Willette Cash, John Hillman and Theodore Hillman. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation, 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 4 at Contee A.M.E. Zion Church, 903 Division Avenue, NE. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Services by HENRY S. WASHINGTON AND SONS.
