   A chicken-farm laborer has been charged in the bludgeoning and stabbing death of a South Georgia woman who was found dead by her roommate. Lawrence Washington, 30, is being held in the Jail-Justice Center in Thomasville, investigators said Friday. Washington also has been charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault in a Tuesday armed robbery that occurred within hours of when the woman is believed to have died. Ronell Scroggins , 21, was found by her part-time roommate, an acquaintanc e of Washington's, Tuesday night on the blood-splattered floor of her living room in Boston, about 15 miles east of Thomasville, said Lt. John Richards of the Thomas County Sheriff's Department. He said robbery appeared to be the motive. Washington was arrested at the Boston Police Department Wednesday morning as police questioned him about the robbery of a Hispanic couple.

   A woman found dead in her house Tuesday night was killed by blows to her head, the Thomas County coroner said.
   
   Ronell Scroggins , 21, was found by her roommate on the floor of her living room in Boston, about 15 miles east of Thomasville in south Georgia, said Lt. John Richards of the Thomas County Sheriff's Department.
   
   She had multiple stab wounds, and her head had been bludgeoned. The head wounds were fatal, Coroner Sam Brown said.
   
   "There's no motive at this point and no suspects," Richards said Wednesday. "We have leads we're running down."
   
   The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the case.
