...Notes: They were granted 640 acres on Dyscus Creek, Rowan Co. NC 1791 (2). Christian is said to not ba an ancestor (sic) of Frederick (1721-1780) but might be a kin (2). There are a couple of web postings on this family and descendants (ch,vp) and a query that indicates a book on the Michaels will be published (crs2). There are also postings on what presumable is another Christian with similar origin but another wife and several different dates and places of death. The dates, apparently of birth, for the children formerly at this site have been replaced based on currently available data (cms). Some branches of this family went by the surname MIKELS. Nothing in these sources suggets that the Coles and Warren County Illinois Michael families descend from this Chaistian.

.... Notes: There seems to be no record of a marriage of a Daniel Michael(s) to an Elizabeth Scott in Illinois but there is one for a marriage to Serilda Schuler. The Daniel in Iowa census has a wife with a name similar to Serilda and a record of one child, David, names the mother as Zerelada Schooler. Thus, it seems clear that the Iowa couple is the one recorded in the Coles Co IL marriage records. However, it is not clear just where these records originated, that is from court house records or from data provided by a descendant. Clearly, this does not prove the Daniel in Iowa is the son of David and Eva but it certainly suggests that.
They moved to Iowa about 1838 (c1856).

... Note: Mabel was not located in the 1910 census and is listed as single in the 1920 census when she is with her parents (c1920). In 1910, Hugh GOIN is with his father and a brother in Colorado, listed as single and born in NE. In 1918, Hugh reportedly registered in Johnson Co., NE but lists his nearest relative as his father Phillip and both his and his father's address as Rusk Co WI (ww1). In 1920, he apparently is the one listed in Wisconsin as John H. born NE and married and with his brother and father but no wife. By 1930, Mable and Hugh Goin are together in Gage Co., NE. It is unclear if the children are his or from another Goin but are probably his (cms). Gaylord is indexed at Ancestry as Gay Ford (c1920) but I consider it probably Gaylord (cms).
This Chester Goins should not be confused with the Chester Raymond Goin, son of Arthur, born ca 1911 NE, apparently (C.
