I never met Cheska Wheatley, but I found her KINGERY and WEBB family web pages years ago that were a big help with these families. I subscribed to the Quaker Roots List for a number of years where she was the moderator. I never felt I had time to email her and now it is too late. She passed away November 30, 2003.
There was a Thomas Webb in Jamestown on the first ship in 1607. A Captain George Webb in the Third Supply in 1609. Many other Webb's are found in various 17th century records.
I can only confirm James and Lucy WEBB with the other WEBB's from internet sources like the Cheska WHEATLEY web site and Ancestry.com. The WEBB's arrival in America in 1629 makes them my first family in North America. Eleventh great-grandfather Richard WEBB arrived in Salem, Massachusetts in May or June 1629 on board the ship Lyon from Bristol, Thames, Gravesend, England on April 5, 1629 with 5 other ships.
The WEBB Family Genealogy - Life is the Past Lane links our line to our 36th President Lyndon Baines Johnson making me an 8th cousin 3 times removed.
Giles WEBB son of immigrant Richard WEBB was a burgess today called a legislator in James Towne, Virginia in 1657 from Upper Norfolk.
The WEBB Family Genealogy site claims we are descended from a long line of British Knights who served the Kings of England including Henry VIII. The most astounding claim of this web site is our relationship to the famous British writer William Shakespeare whose grandmothers are both WEBB sisters in our WEBB family line. He would be my second cousin 15 times removed. The WEBBS of Warwichshire, England - The Early WEBB Families and many other web sites like Answers.com support Alexander WEBB as the one who emigrated to America.
