While he is noted in Boston selectmen minutes on 21 March 1771, he is also listed in the Charlestown tax list for the same year. In a deed of sale dated 02 May 1772, he is listed as a "goldsmith of Charlestown." The Boston tax list of 1780 refers to him as a goldsmith and notes his removal to Watertown in 1775. 9
