John Paris Sisco, 78, of Meally, died Tuesday in HighlandsRegional Medical Center at Prestonsburg following a long illness. Rev. Sisco was born Oct. 14, 1909, in Johnson County, a son of thelate John and Harriet Hunnicutt Sisco. He was a retired coal miner. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Bowling Sisco, five sons, ChesterSisco of Portsmouth, Ohio, Charles Sisco, Raymond Sisco and JohnnySisco, all of Wabash, Ind., and Donald Sisco of Meally; two daughters,Betty Spencer of Van Lear and Diana Bryant of Teaberry; two brothers,Estill Sisco and Elmon Sisco, both of Meally; 26 grandchildren; andfour great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Jones-PrestonFuneral Home in Paintsville by Bill Tackett, minister. Burial will bein the family cemetary at East Point. Mrs. Sisco, who died Thursday, March 26 in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, was born February 15, 1919 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clayton and Gracie Boyd Bowling. She worked as a housekeeper at the old Paintsville Hospital. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John Paris Sisco, in 1987. Surviving are six sons, Otis, Charles, and Donald Sisco, all of Wabash, Indiana, Chester Sisco of Portsmouth, Ohio. Raymond Sisco of Urbana, Indiana and Johnny Sisco of Roann, Indiana; two daughters, Betty Spencer of West Van Lear and Diana Bryant of Teaberry; four brothers, Carl Bowling of Van Lear, Clyde Bowling of Springfield, Ohio, Billy Bowling of Wabash and Clifford Bowling of Cherry Valley, Illinois; four sisters, Elva Tackett of Paintsville, Ethel Clifton of Wabash, Lorene Music of Kentwood, Michigan and Thelma Lowe of Warsaw, Indiana; and 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Officiating at services was Melvin Blanton. Burial was in Whittaker Family Cemetery at East Point.".
