Native Of Virginia Passes At Home Of Daughter Nathan Honeycutt, aged citizen of the Daniels Creek section, died Monday, March 3, (1941), at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Cora Wells, at Odds. He had been ill ten days following a stroke. Mr. Honeycutt was a native of Virginia but moved to that section in early childhood where he spent his entire life. He was 83 years old and had been married three times. His wives have preceded him in death. He leaves many survivors in the Big Sandy Valley. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Addie Virse and Mrs. Cora Wells, Odds; John Honeycutt, Sandusky, Ohio Mrs. Bertha Collins, Auxier, Mrs. Ben Wells, Oldtown, Ky.; Mrs. Virgie Phelps, West Van Lear; Rev. S. C. Honeycutt, Auxier; Mrs. Mary Wells and Mrs. Amanda Hurt, Weeksbury; Samp and Bob Honeycutt, Odds; Mrs. Nora Delong, Auxier, and Mrs. Nora Honeycutt, Boldman, Ky. One son, Burns Honeycutt, preceded him in death. He is also survived by 65 grand children, 74 great- grandchildren and one great-great grand child. Mr. Honeycutt had worked as a farmer and had spent 60 years of his life as a minister of the gospel in the United Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cora Wells at Odds, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, with Rev. J. H. Short, of Meally, in charge. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Odds with the undertaking department of the Paintsville Fur. Co. in charge. The Paintsville Herald Thursday March 6, 1941.".

He was born August 25, 1929, the son of Burns Honeycutt and Emma Baldridge. He is survived by his wife, Vivina Preston Homneycutt; three step-sons, Mike E. Preston of Hazard; C.V. Preston of Wittensville; and Frank Castle of Paintsville; two brothers, Hansford Honeycutt of Prestonsburg and Charles Honeycutt of Florida; three sisters, Hazel Sergent of Ruskin, Florida; Helen Amado of Omaha, Nebraska; and Louise Hall of Prestonsburg; and two step- grandchildren, Charles B. Preston and Micha L. Preston. Services were Thursday, January 16 at 1 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. C1ifard Austin and Larry Joe Meadows officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park in Staffordsville. Born May 27, 1925, in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Burns Honeycutt and Emma Baldridge. Her husband, James Hall, preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons James Hall of Lowmansville, Roger Hall of Ashland, Ernie Hall of Prestonsburg, Phillip Hall of Paintsville; two daughters, Debbie Meek of East Point, Patricia Newsome of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Hansford Honeycutt of Auxier, Charles Honeycutt of Florida; two sisters, Hazel Sergent of Florida and Helen Amato of Omaha, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 27, at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Calvin Setser officiating. Burial in the Auxier Family Cemetery.".

Mr. Honeycutt was born Dec. 27, 1913, in East Point, a son of the late Burns and Emma Baldridge Honeycutt. He was a former tipple foreman with Princess Elkhorn Coal Co. in David. He was a member of Tom Moore Freewill Baptist Church in Cliff, a 50-year Mason and a member of Zebulon Masonic Lodge 273 in Prestonsburg. Surviving are his wife, Mabel Dotson Honeycutt; two sons, Randell Honeycutt of Chapmanville, W.Va., and Paul Honeycutt of Prestonsburg; a daughter, Betty Carver of Prestonsburg; a brother, Charles Honeycutt of Springhill, Fla.; two sisters, Hazel Sargent of Ruskin, Fla., and Helen Amato of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. today at Tom Moore Freewill Baptist Church in Cliff by the Rev. Clifford Austin. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park in Paintsville. Floyd Funeral Home in Prestonsburg was in charge of arrangements.".
