In the 22nd day of August One thousand Seven Hundred Ninety three I Ludwick Francisco of Botetourt County and Commonwealth of Virginia being sick and weak of Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be unto God for the Same and Calling to mind the mortality of my Body knowing that it is appointed for all men Once to die I do make and Ordain this my Last Will & Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give Recomment my Soul unto the Hands of God who gave it and as Concerning my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executors nouthing doubting but at the General Ressurection to obtain Everlasting happiness in the life to Come through the merits of mediation of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ and as touching such worldly Esteat wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this life I divide and dispose of the same in manner and form following that is to say in the plan I give and bequeth Elizabeth my dearly beloved wife the plantation I now live upon as long as she shall Remain a widow and if she shall marry at the day of her marriage to fall as shall hereafter be mentioned. "WILL OF CHRISTOPHER FRANCISCUS IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Christopher Franciscus of Lampiter Township in the County of Lancaster and province of Pennsylvania Yeoman being aged and infirm and not knowing how soon it may please God to take me out of this World Do make Constitute and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) IMPRIMIS I commend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God my Creator hoping thro' his Mercy and the Merits and Intercession of Jesus Christ my Redeemer to be eternally happy and as to my Worldly substance wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I Give devise and bequeath the same in manner following (to wit) First It is my Will that all my just Debts and Funerall Expences be paid and discharged with all Convenient speed after my decease ITEM I give an Devise unto my Son Lodowick Franciscus, my Daughters Esther Franciscus, Catharine Franciscus, my Son Stoffel Franciscus, and unto such of the Children of my Son Christopher Franciscus as shall be alive at the time of my Decease as one Comon Representative of their Father the said Christopher Franciscus all that my Tract of Land in the Colony of Virginia containing Three Thousand Acres (be the same more or less) To hold to them their Heirs and Assigns as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants and to be equally divided among them in Quantity and Quality share and share alike ITEM I Give and Bequeath to my Daughter Hannah by my first Wife the Sum of One Shilling Sterling and no more ITEM I give and Devise to my Wife Margaret My House and Lot which I bought from John Alterberger for and during the Term of her Natural life in case she shall so long continue my Widow together with the Use of so much of my Household Stuff as she shall think proper and after the Death or Marriage of my said wife (which shall first happen) I Give and Devise the said House and Lot to my Daughter Margaret and my Son John Michael Franciscus their Heirs and Assigns to be equally divided between them ITEM it is my Will that all my Personal Estate except so much as shall then be in the Use and Occupation of my said Wife during her Widdowhood and after the Death or Marriage then that part also shall be sold by my Executors herein after named and the Moneys arising by the Sale thereof to be put out to Interest by them or the survivor for the Benefit of my four Younger Children (to wit) Margaret Franciscus, John Michael Franciscus, John Franciscus, and John George Franciscus for their Maintainence and Education during their respective Minoritys and each to be paid one equal fourth part of the principal on the attaining the Age of twenty one Years with respect to the Males and to my Daughter Margaret on her attaining her Age of Eighteen Years or the Day of her Marriage (which shall first happen) and in case any of my four younger Children dye under Age and unmarryed It is my Will that the Share or Shares of him her or them so Dying shall be equally divided among the Survivors or them ITEM It is my Will that my Executors herein after named shall first of all out of the produce of my personal Estate pay to my said Wife during her Widowhood the Sum of Fifteen Pounds yearly for her support and Maintenance in such manner as she shall think proper and after her decease or Marriage which shall first happen the same shall be equally Divided among my said four younger Children or such of them as shall be then living.
