1Paintsville Herald, Obit-Music,Alex, 18 May 2001. "ALEX MUSIC Alex Music, 61, died at 5:50 a.m. January 09 1965 at his home in Van Lear, Johnson Co Ky. He was the son of the late Lincoln and Mahala Webb Music, and was a born in Johnson County where he had spent most of his life. A retired miner, he was a member of the U.M.W.A. Surviving besides his wife, Mary VanHoose Music, are four sons, Isom Music of Van Lear; James Music and Robert Music both of Wabash, Indiana; and Ray Music, Marion Indiana; a daughter Mrs. Betty Jennings of Van Lear; and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Henry Music,Van Lear; Irvin Music, Hager Hill; Melvin Music Mechanicsburg,Ohio; and one half-brother, Eunice Stambaugh of Hager Hill. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11 at West Van Lear Church of Christ by Cecil Sherman. Burial was in the Club House Cemetery at Van Lear, Johnson Co Ky. Born December 15, 1920, he was the son of the later Proctor and Clarinda Hall Webb. Surviving are his wife, Goldie Goble Webb, two sons, Paul Calvin Webb and Danny Webb, both of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and three daughters, Rosetta Fannin and Marcie Webb, both of Van Lear, and Carlette Campbell of Thelma. Also surviving are 3 three brothers, David Webb, of Williamsport, John Webb of Columbus, Ohio and Charles Fannin, both of Van Lear, and Minnie Moffett and Lucille Helton both of Cincinnati, Ohio, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Alka Fannin died 5-23-1985 age 82, Funeral services for Mr. Webb were Held February 7, in Paintsville. Burial was in the family cemetery at Van Lear. So was Alka who married Estille Fannin. They had a daughter, Yvonne (Spurgeon.".

He was born in Scott County, Va. on May 3, 1941 and was the son of the late Lois Mae Begley Starnes. Including his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Nannie Melinda Begley; paternal grandfather, �Rasie�� Starnes; paternal grandmother, Barbara Starnes; and one brother, Ronald Ted Starnes. Surviving are his wife, Linda Starnes, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; father, Ray Dewey Starnes Sr., Duffield, Va.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Kathy (Joe) Sturgill and Mrs. Barbara (Jerry) Begley, both of Ft. Blackmore, Va., Brenda Kilgore and Sherry Kilgore, both of Kingsport and Mrs. Judy (Darel) Babb, Gate City, Va.; one son, Donald and Brenda Starnes, Kingsport; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, James Cloude Starnes, Ft. Blackmore, Va., Donald Fred Starnes, Dungannon, Va., Gary Wayne Starnes and Ray Dewey Starnes Jr., both of Duffield, Va.; stepmother, Nancy Starnes, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Stanleyton Community Church with the Rev. Charlie Taylor and the Rev. Mike Ervin officiating. The body will lie in state from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Music will be provided by Toke Hensley, Val Perry, Gary Hunley and Jerry Hunley. Burial will be at the Starnes Family Cemetery, Duffield, Va. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers, and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.".
