- Lutie E. Feagins, 88, went to be with the Lord Wednesday
(Nov. 7, 2001) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a
lengthy illness.
Born in Russell County, Va., she had resided in Kingsport most of
her life.
Mrs. Feagins was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Herman Feagins; and eight sisters and brothers preceded
her in death.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Thomas and A'Lita Feagins,
Kingsport; one grandson, Mark Feagins, Kingsport; one sister, Alda
Maddux, Johnson City; one brother, Wesley Irvis Stapleton,
Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

- Mary Lee Harrison Frazier, 80, passed away Wednesday
(Nov. 7, 2001) at Indian Path Medical Center, four days short of her
81st birthday.
Born in Greene County, she resided most of her life in Kingsport.
She attended Apostolic Lighthouse in Kingsport.
Her parents, Martin and Rebecca Harrison; and a brother, Hobert
Harrison, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Connie Malone Grogg and husband, Doyle,
Debra Frazier Hunt, both of Kingsport; grandchildren, Nicole "Nikki"
Grogg Harville and husband, Tim, Carla Grogg Wagers and husband,
Jeff, Marla Grogg McLeod and husband, Scott, Christy Hunt Lawson,
and husband, Gerald, Janessa Hunt; great-grandchildren, Megan Grogg,

GLENS
FALLS, N.Y. - Helen F. Grogg, 85, of Cronin High Rise, died
Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2001) at the home of her daughter Kimberly.
Born on Dec. 19, 1915 in Athens, W.Va., she was the daughter of
George Frazier and Lelia (White) Frazier.
Helen was a graduate of Athens High School in West Virginia. On Dec.
24, 1937, she married Wanzel J. Grogg and they resided in Kingsport
until his retirement from Eastman Kodak in 1975. They moved to the
Glens Falls area where they lived until his death in February of
2000.
Helen has been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 60 years and she
continued being active in her ministry work until she passed away.
She died peacefully with a firm belief in the resurrection.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially
her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by
two of her brothers, Lloyd Frazier of Athens, W.Va., and Ray Frazier
of Kingsport.
Surviving are her children, Robert A. Grogg of Kingsport, and
Kimberly S. Breault and her husband Clinton of South Glens Falls;
three grandchildren, David M. Grogg of California, Ashley L.
McKinney and Justin C. McKinney of South Glens Falls; two brothers,
Okey Frazier and Harry Frazier, both of Kingsport; and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Corinth Road, Queensbury,
N.Y.
Burial of her ashes will be private at Pine View Cemetery beside her
husband.

- William A. Harris, 88, went to be with his Lord
Wednesday (Nov. 7, 2001) at the VA Medical Center after a period of
declining health.
William was born March 25, 1913 in Greene County and moved to
Kingsport in 1940. He was a son of the late William Arthur and
Bertha Nease Harris, and was married to the late Nancy Jeanette
Harris, who passed away in 1997.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 688, York and Scottish Rite
bodies, Jericho Temple, and life member of the VFW Post No. 3382.
He was a veteran, serving honorably and proudly for his country in
the U.S. Army during World War II with the second Infantry Division.
He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He did plastering for a living, and was a member of the Indian
Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a
daughter in 1987, Linda K. Harris Lady; two sisters, Dorothy Taylor
Harris and Reba Harris; four brothers, Henry Judson Harris, Leroy
Marcus Harris, James B. Harris and Taylor DeWitte Harris.
William was a kind, gentle and loving father and grandfather who
will be missed by his family.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Charles R.
Fields, of Kingsport; a son and daughter-in-law, James (Jim) and
Vicki Harris, of Florida; six grandchildren, Teresa Greene, Gene
Lady, Wayne Lady, Michael Fields, Sherri Edens and Nancy Harris;
seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the East Lawn
Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence of his daughter, Judy
Fields.
A Masonic service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral

She was a native of Portsmouth, Va., and a graduate of Craddock High
School. She had resided in Abingdon for the past 18 years and was of
the Baptist faith, attending Shakesville Church of Christ, Bristol,
Va.
Her mother, Marjorie Butt Payne; father, George Minetree Payne;
maternal grandmother, Ada Trant Butt; maternal grandfather,

years. He was a former employee of Bostic Ford in Lebanon.

Co. as a machine operator. He was a member of the UAW Local 1111.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Mendenhall Moore.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Earle Douglas.

- Georgie Ada Musselwhite Paschal, 92, of 4825 Curtis
Court, formerly of 168 Old Phoenix Road NC, Eatonton, Ga., died
Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2001) at Cookeville Regional Medical Center
following a brief illness.
Mrs. Paschal was born Feb. 22, 1909 in Abingdon, Va., a daughter of
the late Howard Worley and Mildred Caroline Ferguson Musselwhite of
Glade Springs, Va. She was raised in Bristol, Tenn., however, most
of her life was spent in Eatonton, Ga., where she was a member of
the Order of the Eastern Star and held the position of Worthy Matron
from 1989 to 1991.
She was also a member and teacher at Philadelphia Methodist Church
in Eatonton. Since 1992, she attended Cassidy United Methodist
Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Joseph Carlton Paschal of Eatonton, Ga.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, J.C. Paschal and wife
Anne, of Wixom, Mich., and H. William Paschal and wife Judith, of
Kingsport; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Myrtle was born and spent her entire life in Scott County, Va. She
was a member of Starnes Bend Freewill Baptist Church and also
attended Pendleton's Freewill Baptist Church.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters,
Gladys Peters, Ruth Quillen and Margie Gillenwater; and one brother,
Clyde Presley.

Va. - Paul Jeffery Steffey, 48, of Route 2, began his
journey with the Lord as he entered into eternal rest at his
residence on Tuesday (Nov. 6, 2001) following a courageous battle
with cancer.
He was born in Scott County on April 15, 1953. He was employed by
Barger Leasing for many years before becoming a self-employed truck
driver. At the time of his illness, he was employed with Baker
Construction. He enjoyed part-time farming.
Mr. Steffey attended House of Prayer Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Steffey.
Surviving are his loving wife, Charlotte Clark Steffey,
Nickelsville, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Jennifer

community, passed into eternal life Wednesday (Nov. 7, 2001) after
an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 13, 1917 in Big Stone Gap, Va., and was the
daughter of V.B. and Rosa Dickenson.
She was a charter member of Durham's Chapel FWB Church, former
Sunday School teacher and church secretary and treasurer. Naomi was
an accomplished author, having published three books including the
latest, "Golden Years of Poetry,'' in 1998. She was a correspondent
for The Post for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Wells Sr.; and
beloved granddaughter, Stephanie Amanda Wells.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Donald
Winstead, Judy and Audley Begley of Big Stone Gap, Doris and Tom
Smith of Blountville; one son, Doyle Wells Jr. of Big Stone Gap; 10
grandchildren, Cecil Begley, Chris Begley, Valerie Begley, Kenneth
Begley, Bobby Joe Begley, Caramalita Swinney, Donnia Winstead, Brian
Smith, Paige Gibson and Jeremiah Wells; 13 great-grandchildren,
Jessica Begley, Eric Begley, Joshua Begley, Nathan Begley, Jennifer
Begley, Shanna Begley, Maggie Begley, Andrew Begley, John Lee, Adam
Swinney, Ashley Swinney, Jessica Winstead and Mattie Gibson; two
sisters, Rose Helen Shupe, Clinchport, and Margaret Delph,
Chantilly, Va.; three brothers, Grover Dickenson, James Dickenson
and Edward Dickenson, all of Big Stone Gap; and a special friend,
Bruce Dickenson, Big Stone Gap.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home in
Big Stone Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Jonah Ray Shoop and the Rev. Mitchell Elliott
officiating.
Entombment will be in the Glencoe Cemetery Mausoleum.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
