            Services for Carrie Bernice Newton Aderholdt, Kingsport, who entered 
            into eternity on November 8, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today 
            at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Soop and the Rev. 
            Caryl Griffin officiating. 
            Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park with grandchildren 
            serving as pallbearers.

            KINGSPORT - Services for Charles Clelly Allen, 75, who passed away 
            at 6:12 Friday (Nov. 9, 2001), will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in 
            the chapel of Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville, with the Rev. 
            William R. Allen and the Rev. Keith Osborne officiating. 
            Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. 
            Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 
            Choptack Cemetery. 

            Ethel Mae Burleson, 91, Kingsport.

            KINGSPORT - Ethel Mae Burleson, 91, of Alabaster, Ala., passed away 
            Friday (Nov. 9, 2001). 
            Mrs. Burleson was a former resident of the Fordtown area and 
            Kingsport. 
            Mrs. Burleson was of the Baptist faith. She was a beloved mother and 
            housewife. 
            She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Burleson, Feb. 
            1982; and a daughter, Doris Jones, Aug. 1999. 
            Survivors include her daughter, Audrey Masters, Alabaster, Ala.; one 
            son, Dr. Charles E. Burleson, Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren; and 
            11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, 
            Edna Masters, Erwin, and Bonnie Byrd, Bakersville, N.C. 
            The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill 
            Funeral Home. 
            Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Oak Hill 
            Cemetery. Officiating will be her grandson, the Rev. Richard Jones.

            Graveside services for Paul M. Casteel, 86, Kingsport, who died 
            Thursday (Nov. 8, 2001), will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. today in 
            Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. 
            Memorials may be given to the Shriners Children's Hospital, 950 W. 
            Faris Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605-4277.

            Jerold Culbertson, 33, Greensboro, N.C.

            GREENSBORO, N.C. - Jerold "Andy" "Tennessee T" Culbertson, 33, of 
            887 Sunburst Lane, passed away Friday (Nov. 9, 2001) at Moses Cone 
            Hospital in Greensboro following injuries received in a motorcycle 
            accident. 
            Andy was a native of Church Hill but had lived in Greensboro for the 
            past nine years. He was employed by Konica Manufacturing of 
            Whitsett, N.C. 
            Andy loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and was an avid UT football 
            fan. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. 
            He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Asa C. Greene; 
            and paternal grandfather, J.M. Culbertson. 
               
            Survivors include his mother, Linda Kay Greene Culbertson, Bulls 
            Gap; his father and stepmother, Jerold Dallas and Cynthia 
            Culbertson, Kingsport; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard Travis 
            and Christi Culbertson, Blountville; one stepbrother, Frank Baker, 
            Kingsport; one stepsister, Julia Baker, Kingsport; maternal 
            grandmother, Mary M. Greene, Morristown; paternal grandmother, Mrs. 
            Paul (Marjorie) McConnell, Kingsport; one niece, Aleigha Culbertson; 
            one nephew, Brannon Culbertson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

            Ralph W. Dillow, 80, Atlanta, Ga.

            ATLANTA, Ga. - Ralph W. Dillow, 80, departed to be with the Lord on 
            Saturday (Nov. 10, 2001) at the Veterans Administration Medical 
            Center in Decatur, Ga. 
            He was born in Sullivan County, and resided most of his life in 
            Atlanta. 
            Mr. Dillow was a U.S. Army medic during World War II. 
            He caddied at the old golf and country club in Kingsport, where he 
            learned and perfected the game of golf. Mr. Dillow became a member 
            of the PGA in the late 1950's. He also qualified and competed in 
            numerous local and national tournaments in the Sammy Snead/Ben Hogan 
            era and was friends with both. Ralph was a teaching professional and 
            club pro at several country clubs in Georgia, Alabama and Virginia. 
            He later became a builder and built many homes in the Atlanta 
            Country Club estate area, Alabama, and Hilton Head, S.C. 
            Mr. Dillow was also a charter member of the Ridgefields Country 
            Club. As family and friends say good-bye, we say to you (Ralph), 
            "Keep those long beautiful drives down the middle." 
            He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Bruce and Susie Mae 
            Culbertson Dillow; and two infant sisters. 
               
            Survivors include two sisters, Fay Milhorn, California; Leta 
            Cunningham, Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Raymond Dillow, 
            Jonesborough, Kenneth Dillow, Kingsport, and William Dillow, St. 
            Augustine, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. 
            Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral 
            Home, downtown. 
            Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home 
            chapel. 
            Military graveside rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at 
            East Lawn Memorial Park by the American Legion Hammond Post No. 3. 

            Ethel Findley, Rogersville.

            ROGERSVILLE - Services for Ethel Sue Findley, who passed away at her 
            home Thursday (Nov. 8, 2001), will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in 
            the chapel of Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville. 
            Calling hours are from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. 
            Burial will follow in Mitchell Crest Cemetery. 

            Margaret Fink, 88, Kingsport.

            KINGSPORT - Margaret Clayman Fink, 88, went to be with the Lord 
            Thursday (Nov. 8, 2001) at the Alvin Street residence. 
            She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County (Fordtown Road area) 
            and for the past several years she had made her home with her sister 
            and brother-in-law, Katherine and Harry Jennings. 
            She retired from Holston Valley Medical Center after 30 years of 
            service and was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church and 
            served as secretary for several years. 
            She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Fink; her parents, 
            William David Clayman and Martha Huffman Clayman; two sisters, Mary 
            Hobbs and Grace Clayman Fink; and three brothers, Ed Clayman, Noah 
            Clayman and Lloyd Clayman. 
            Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Harry 
            Jennings; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Ethel Clayman, all 
            of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews. 
            Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carter-Trent Funeral 
            Home, Kingsport. 
            Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home 
            chapel with Pastor Ray Amos and Pastor Winston Sweeney officiating. 
            Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the 
            Gunnings Cemetery, Blountville. 
            Family and friends attending the graveside service will meet at the

            Jackie Lee Hice, 60, Chuckey.

            CHUCKEY - Jackie Lee Hice, 60, died Friday (Nov. 9, 2001) at 
            Laughlin Memorial Hospital after a battle with cancer. 
            He was retired from Eastman Kodak of Kingsport, and was a member of 
            Albright United Methodist Church. 
            He loved to fish and hunt. He spent most of his time doing things 
            for others. 
            He was preceded in death by his father, Pollard Hice. 
            Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Southerland Hice; two daughters 
            and sons-in-law, Teresa and Anthony Tolliver of Chuckey, Page and 
            Anthony Gregg of Rheatown; one stepdaughter, Sandra and Jerry Weems 
            of Greeneville; one stepson, Billy Joe Parker of Chuckey; four 
            grandchildren, Jordan Ottinger, Ethan Tolliver, Kaleb and Hunter 
            Gregg, Shannon Blaylock and Sebastian Parker; mother, Willie Hice; 
            two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Henry Fannon of Chuckey, 
            Brenda and Eddie Jeffers of Greeneville; one brother and 
            sister-in-law, Jimmy and Marilyn Hice of Morristown; four 
            brothers-in-law, Kyle and Carlis Southerland of Boones Creek, Jackie 
            and Martha Southerland of Afton, Danny and Shirley Southerland of 
            Chuckey, Jimmy and Michelle Southerland of Afton; two 
            sisters-in-law, Patty and Jerry Wills of Greeneville, Marsha and

            Lois Jessee, 89, Kingsport.

            KINGSPORT - Lois Jessee, 89, passed away Friday (Nov. 9, 2001). 
            Mrs. Jessee was a resident of the Kingsport area most of her life. 
            She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Jessee; and one son, 
            Lee Roy Jessee. 
               
            Survivors include her daughter, Linda Morrissette, Church Hill; a 
            sister; and two brothers. Calling hours will be from 12 noon to 2 
            p.m. today at the Oak Hill Funeral Home Chapel. 
            Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home 
            chapel.

            Wendell Johnson, 52, Big Stone Gap, Va.

            BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Wendell Ray Johnson, 52, died Sunday (Sept. 23, 
            2001) in Coaling, Ala. 
            He was a coal miner and former employee of Westmoreland Coal Co. for 
            22 years. He was employed by Jim Walter Resources, Blue Creek Coal, 
            Mine No. 5 for the past five years. 
            He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam. 
            He was preceded in death by his father, Buster Johnson. 
            Surviving are his wife, Janet Johnson, Coaling, Ala.; sons and 
            daughters, Gary Collins, Northport, Ala., Lesley Cole, Duffield, 
            Va., and Vanessa Johnson, Coaling, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin Cole, 
            Katlin "Katie" Brooke Cole, Joshua Collins, Mackenzie Collins; 
            mother, Helen Johnson, Big Stone Gap; brothers and sisters, Stanley 
            Johnson, Keokee, Va., Randy Johnson, Exeter, Va., Jeff Johnson,

            International, will also be speaking at the graveside and Gary

            in procession to the cemetery.

            Services for J. Billy Massengill, 71, 916 Teasel Drive, Kingsport, 
            who died at 10 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 8, 2001), will be conducted at 2 
            p.m. today at Higher Ground Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Hoskins and 
            the Rev. A. Richard Ratliff officiating. 
            The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. 
            Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

            Jack Stidham, Mike Bishop, Robert Summers and David Nickles.

            Virginia K. Minton, 85, Kingsport.

            KINGSPORT - Virginia K. Minton, 85, died Saturday (Nov. 10, 2001). 
            Ms. Minton retired from the Eastman, and was of the Baptist faith. 
            She was preceded in death by her parents, John E. and Daisey Minton; 
            two brothers; and three sisters. 
            Survivors include five sisters, Sophia Souder, Edith Sliger, and 
            Lola Salyer, all of Kingsport, Ida Dell Fleenor, Gate City, Va., and 
            Frances Carty, California; several nieces and nephews. 
            Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Oak Hill Funeral Home. 
            The family will also receive friends at the residence of a sister, 
            Sophia Souder, 812 W. Carters Valley Road. 
            Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home

            James Kyle Rogers, 44, Church Hill.

            CHURCH HILL - James Kyle Rogers, 44, of Lloyds Chapel Road, died 
            Friday (Nov. 9, 2001) in Church Hill. 
            He was born in Sullivan County and lived most of his life in Church 
            Hill. He was Scout Master and troop leader for Troop No. 149, Church 
            Hill, for several years. He worked in the construction trade. 
            He was preceded in death by a son, James Kyle Rogers Jr.; his 
            father, Bert Kyle Rogers; and brother, Carson Rogers. 
               
            Surviving are his sons, Daniel Will Rogers, Kingsport, Christopher 
            "Bo" Rogers, Church Hill, and Jeremy Shane Rogers, Kingsport; one 
            sister, Pauletta Rogers Christian, Church Hill; three brothers, 
            Larry Wayne Rogers, Kingsport, Mike Rogers and Roy Rogers, both of 
            Church Hill; several nieces and nephews. 
            Services will be conducted at 5 p.m. today in the chapel of 
            Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill, with the Rev. Gary Gerhardt 
            officiating. 
            Calling hours will be immediately following the services at the 
            funeral home. 
            There will be a private burial at the Rogers' Family Cemetery.

            Jessie Stapleton, Rogersville.

            ROGERSVILLE - Jessie Elizabeth Bloomer Stapleton, born Feb. 3, 1915, 
            died at 9 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 10, 2001) after a lengthy period of 
            declining health. 
            She spent her entire life as a homemaker and was an exemplary wife 
            and mother. She was a longtime member of Rogersville's First Baptist 
            Church. 
            Going before her in death were her husband, Arlie Stapleton; two 
            stepsons, James and Edgar Stapleton; a granddaughter, Emily 
            Stapleton; her parents, Thomas Jessie and Mae Brooks Bloomer; her 
            brother, Bill Bloomer; and her sisters, Lydia Davis and Ruth 
            Sumpter. 
            Survivors include one daughter, Mae Brooks and husband, Claude; two 
            sons, Tom Stapleton, and John Stapleton and wife, Ina, all of 
            Rogersville; one granddaughter, Robin Floyd and husband, George, 
            Arden, N.C.; one great-granddaughter, Alison Floyd, Arden, N.C.; and 
            one niece, Dr. Marylee Davis, East Lansing, Mich. 
            Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Broome Funeral Home, 
            Rogersville. 
            Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home 
            chapel with the Rev. Eugene Hageman and Dr. David L. Hale 
            officiating.

            ROGERSVILLE - Services for James Amos Templeton, who was born Aug. 
            21, 1929 and passed away Friday morning (Nov. 9, 2001), will be 
            conducted at 8 p.m. today in the chapel of Colboch-Price Funeral 
            Home, Rogersville, with the Rev. Bill Brown and the Rev. Steve Davis 
            officiating. 
            Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and 
            anytime at the residence of his sister, Belle Elkins, 1012 W. Main 
            St., Rogersville. 
            Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Ebbing &
