250 Years of The Sloyer-Schloyer-Schleyer-Scheier Family by Linda M. Klosek states that they resided in Springtown, Bucks Co. He was an undertaker. The business was operated by he and his father Thomas H. Seifert. The property , on the main St. of Springtown, was situated on a 3 acre tract. He conducted business in the Seifert Funeral Parlor located in one house and in the morgue located in the rear section of the adjoining house. They also owned and operated a vault shop on the corner of Church St. and Lower Saucon Rd. in Springtown. The vault shop business was conducted in a building formerly housing the St. Paul's Methodist Church. They manufactured the Springtown Burial Vault. The business later became the Felix Hammerstone Burial Vault Co.. In the 1980's the builing was demolished and a private residence now occupies the site.

Thelma Pearl Seifert was born at the creamery, and lived there until 2 years of age when her father sold the business and moved to Springtown where he lived for a year with his parents until the completion of his new house in Springtown.
1926. Thomas H. Seifert was still operating as the local undertaker in Springtown.
1929. The front portion of the building housing the morgue of Seifert's Funeral Parlor became the location of the barber shop of Jake Raub. He was the first barber to work at the location.
January 1, 1941. Thomas H. Seifert died in Springtown, at age 81 years, 6 months, and 8 days. John Seifert continued to operate the morgue and funeral parlor till the late 1950's with the aid of Edward Brill, funeral director, undertaker, and embalmer. John Seifert had studied in Brooklyn. He worked with his father in the undertaking business but he never got around to taking the state boards exam. His friend from Easton, Edward Brill was licensed.
1967. John B. Seifert died at age 84 years. He is buried in the Springtown Cemetery.

Lucinda E. Pearson Butz, 94, formerly of Water Street, Hellertown, died April 9 in Blough Health Care Center Inc., Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Corson D. Butz and Paul A. Pearson.

Born in Lower Saucon Township, she was a daughter of the late Preston T. and Ellie (Ebert) Laubach. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Springtown, and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She was a member of a senior citizens group in Springtown.

Survivors: Sons, Leon P. Pearson of Bethlehem, Dr. Richard E. Pearson of Brick, N.J.; brothers, Wilmer of Butztown, William of Allentown; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth P. Pearson, last year.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Arrangements, Heintzelman Funeral Home, Hellertown.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003 in the Christ Lutheran Church, Main Street, Springtown PA. Family and Friends may call 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Church. Interment in Springtown Cemetery, Springfield Township PA. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown PA.
