Visitation and viewing will be from noon until 8 p.m. On Tuesday, June 22, at Chaney Walters Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Jay Littlefield officiating. Mrs. Christensen was born on March 5, 1910 to David and Mabel (Ache) Harcierode in Oakley, Kan. She attended Sterling schools, graduating from Sterling High School. On June 14, 1930 she married Jens Christensen in Sterling. She lived in Denver from 1967 until moving back to Sterling in 1993. Mrs. Christensen is survived by three daughters, Jollene Thomssen of Littleton, Janice Hennings of Maple Grove,Minn., and Dianne Seagle of Sterling; four sisters, Ida Strunk, Opal Christenson,Alberta Lamb, and Luella Headley, all of Sterling; and a brother, Darrell Harclerode of Sterling; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jens Christensen, in 1966. Memorial contributions may be sent to Gideon International, P. 0. Box 84, Sterling 80751.

Death: Nov. 16, 1999Opal Anna Christenson, 81, of Sterling, died on Nov. 16, 1999, in Sterling, after a long illness. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 am. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 am. on •Friday, Nov. 19 at Chaney Walters, with services con cluding at the funeral home. Pastors Orville Stewart and Jay Littlefield will officiate. Private burial will be at River side Cemetery. Opal Anna Harcierode was born early on Christmas morn ing in 1917 on a farm near Oakley, Kan. to David C. and Mabel (Ache) Harcierode. Opal's five sisters and two brothers were invited into their parents' bedroom to meet the "live doll" that Santa Claus had left the family. While Opal was still an infant, the family sold their farm and headed to Sterling in their 1914 Ford touring car, her oldest brother driving a covered wagon with the fami ly's worldly possessions. After coming to Sterling, the family lived for a time on the old Sugar Factory farm. Opal graduated from the Sterling Industrial Arts High School in 1936. After gradua tion, she moved to Denver to attend beauty school. She married Donald C. "Chris" Christenson in Kim ball, Neb. in 1941. During World War II, she lived and worked in Fort Collins. They moved to Greeley after Chris was discharged from the Navy. In 1950, they moved to Sterling, where she worked part-time for many years in her sister's beauty shop. Later, she volunteered her services at the local nursing home for the res idents living there. Opal enjoyed working in her garden, sewing and cook ing. She was always baking treats for friends and relatives. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her daughters, Lana Tramp and husband Robert of Sterling, and Cheryl Wenzinger and husband Dan of Gennessee; grandsons, Christopher, Michael and Brian Tramp of Sterling, and Shane and Travis Bohlender of Denver; one brother, Darrell Harclerode of Sterling; three sisters, ha Strunk, Alberta Lamb, and Luella Headley, all of Sterling; and many nieces and nephews. Opal was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; one infant son; one brother, and four sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Bee Hive Home, the American red Cross, or Kidz Ark of Sterling.

John Roberts officiating. Graveside services by Sterlig B.P.O.E Lodge No. 1336 an burial will follow at Riverside cemetery. Mr. Lamb, a registered pharmacist, died Sunday, April 24, 1988, at Logan County Hospital. He was 69. He was born Nov. 14, 1918 in Lawson, Mo., the son of Lester John and Anna Rena Douglas Lamb, receiving his early education in Missouri and excelled in sports lettering football. He came to Sterling in 1938 where he was employed at Waterman's Pharmacy (later Brown Pharmacy) at the soda fountain, later managed a soda fountain for George Burk at his creamery. Mr. Lamb graduated from the Capital College of Pharmacy in Denver in January 1948. He became involved in the trucking profession as a second business while working for Croft Drug Co., Barnes Pharmacy and Gibson Pharmacy in Sterling before moving to Greeley in 1975, returning to Sterling in 1978 when he purchased the Gibson Pharmacy, operating the firm until selling to Fred Winter in 1985. Mr. Lamb worked as a relief pharmacist at Broadway Plaza Pharmacy until December last year. He married Alberta Harclerode, Oct. 3, 1940, in Sidney, Neb. Mr. Lamb was a member of the Protestant faith, attended the First Assembly of God Church, Sterling B.P.O.Elks No. 1336, Colorado Pharmaceutical Association and Riverview Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Al berta L. Lamb of Sterling; a son, Dennis L. Lamb. of Palisade; two daughters, Jaylene L. Ballard and Lynette R. Getz, both of Sterling; nine grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Chaney-Walters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leota moved her family with a new baby, Erla, born after James's death to the rented farm. Cyril and his siblings attended Halford School until they were ready for highschool and then went to Gem, Kansas. In 1930 the family moved just north of Halford, Kansas. Cyril married Twila Pearl Howard in the Methodist Church at Colby, Kansas June 22, 1941. Twila was the 2nd child of Minnie P. and Earl J. Howard. Their children are: Janis Pearl, born September 20, 1946--died December 30, 1949 in Colby, Thomas county, Kansas; Doyle Earle Saddler, born October 8, 1948 and Corla LeAnn born December 2, 1950. There is the 5th generation living and working on the original homestead of Twila's family today (the year 2009).
