many years. Born in Spring Valley, Upper Saucon Township, she was a daughter of the
late Elmer and Carrie (Koch) Horne. Surviving are a daughter Loretta of Quakertown,
three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in
the C.R. Strunk Funeral Home, 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown. A calling hour will

H. Walter SLOYER, 86. of Mill Street, Quakertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, in St. luke;'s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Marie (MARTIN) SLOYER.

He was a molder for the former Krupps Foundry, Quakertown, for 44 years before retiring in 1978.

Born in Richland Township, Bucks County, he was a son of the late Newton and Jemima (HOFFERT) SLOYER.

Martin W. Lynn Sr., 98, formerly of 1122 Maple St., Bethlehem, died Monday, July 3, in Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown. He was the husband of the late Marion (Seifert) Lynn.

He was a supervisor of social insurance and compensation at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for many years until retiring in 1967. Prior to that, he was a supervisor of safety in the bridge shop of the steel.

Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late William H. and Lydiann (Weidner) Lynn.

He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bethlehem, where he was a member of the council and chairman of the building committee. He was a member of the pastoral search committee and was a Sunday school teacher and Boy Scout leader.

He was a member of Bethlehem Lodge 283 F.&A.M. and was a Northampton County assessor for the ninth ward of Bethlehem.

He was active with the Men of Muhlenberg Hospital Auxiliary, Muhlenberg Hospital building committees and was treasurer of the Lutheran Manor building committee.

Survivors: Sons, Martin W. Jr. of Bethlehem and Carl R. of Hilton Head, S.C.; daughter, Nancy C. Faust of Allentown; sister, Helen Young of Elizabethtown; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Adinolfi.

Deceased Name: Miriam Lottie Russo

Miriam Lottie Russo, 91, of Avalon Nursing Center died April 16, 2009, in Jameson Hospital. She was born May 29, 1917, in Hellertown, Pa., and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Nora Sloyer. Mrs. Russo was a homemaker and actively involved in the former Mahoning School PTA when her children were young. In her later years she avidly supported Angels for Animals, reflecting her love for animals. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Bette Reinhart of The Villages, Fla.; daughters, Rebecca Russo of La Canada, Calif., and Lucinda Paxton of Miami; a daughter and son-in-law, Patrice and Luis Morales of Miami; along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Franklin Reinhart; her second husband, Pasquale Russo; her brother, John Sloyer; and her sisters, Grace Bickford and Eleanor Bollman. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel of the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave., on what would have been Mrs. Russo's 92nd birthday. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Castle Public Library, 207 E.
