Ronald C. GERWIN, 57, Fremont, died Wednesday, in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Gibsonburg (Joyce Godfrey note: birth place is a mistake; birth place was in Fremont) to Carl Henry and Lucille Irene (BALSIZER) GERWIN. On May 4, 1968, he married Karen A. KARR at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Attica and she survives.

Mr. GERWIN was a 1962 graduate of Ross High School and was a mechanic of farm macinery with a home-based business called Gerwin Tractor Repair. He had also worked for Heinz USA as mechanic since 1987.

He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Other survivors include his children Monica I. WILLEY and Damien C., both of Fremont; one grandson; brother Edward Charles of Fremont; and sister Kathleen BURMEISTER of Gibsonburg (Joyce Godfrey note: again this is a mistake, Kathleen lives in Fremont).

His parents are deceased.

Visitation: Noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Nopper-Karlovetz Mortuary.

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Karen A. Gerwin, 56, of Sandusky County Road 128, Fremont, died wednesday at home.

She was born in Bucyrus to Richard and Mona (McHugh) Karr and they survive. She graduated from Attica High School in 1965 and then graduated from Tiffin Hair Academy. On May 4, 1968, she married Ronald C. gerwin in Attica at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. He died May 22, 2002.

Mrs. Gerwin was an active volunteer for the senior centers at Fort Stephenson and bethesda Care Center. She also was involved in the Bide-A-Wee Farm Club and Serendipity Bible Study.

She worked as a beautician, having owned her own salon, "United Hairline," for several years until her illness in 1991.

Surviving are her children Monica (R.J.) Willey and Damian C. Gerwin, all of Fremont, grandson Zachary J. Willey of Fremont; and sister Yvonne Fowler of Kingman, Ariz.

Visitation: Begins at Noon Saturday, Nooper-Karlovetz Mortuary.

Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Harry O. Sloyer, Harry O. Sloyer, age 85, of Gladwin passed away Friday, June 18, 2004. He was born January 4, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Harry and Harriet (Adkins) Sloyer. Harry married Marian Adler on June 23, 1956 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He retired from the Conrail Railroad after 43 years. After retiring he came to Gladwin. He was a member of the VFW Post 11256, and the Gladwin Masonic Lodge #392 F&AM.
Surviving are wife, Marian Sloyer; one son, Jeffrey (Carol) Sloyer of Harrison; and two grandsons, Jebadiah and Zachariah. Harry was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Robert.
Services were held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sisson Funeral Home. Rev. Carol Sloyer officiated. A Masonic service was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

WALBRIDGE. Joseph J. SLOYER, 64, of 141 Harlan Drive, died Thursday morning in St. Charles Hospital, Oregon.

He was an engineer for Conrail 42 years, retiring in 1982.

SLOYER was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers.

He was born Sept. 16, 1920 to Mr. and Mrs Harry O. SLOYER Sr. (Harriet ADKINS). He married Marilyn I. SHUMAKER on July 28, 1955 in Millbury, and she survives.

Also surviving are one son, Fred A., Walbridge, two daughters, Mrs. Vicki L. KUTZ, Perrysburg and Mrs. Linda GREGORY, Canton, two brothers, Robert J., Milbury, and Harry O.., Jr., Gladwin, Mich., and five grandchildren.

Visitation is today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge.

Mauna was a member of Northwood Church of God and the church choir. She also was a member of the Chritian Women's Club and the Golden Eagles.

Surviving are her son, Robert; daughter, Linda (Jerry) Eye; sister, Virginia (Foster) Orns; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and sisters, Nancy Bair and Corabelle Clapsaddle.

Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home Coy Road on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 from 2 until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Northwood Church of God.
