LAND RECORD OF JOHN B. CHESHIRE

indenture made this first day of March
· To: Deed
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight
· John B. Cheshire
hundred and thirty-six between Thomas Piers
of the Township of Lafayette, County of Floyd and State of Indiana of
the
one part and John Baptist Cheshire of the Town, County and State
aforesaid
of the other part:
Witnesseth:- That the said Thomas Piers, for and in consideration of
an
euql (sic) piece or parcel of Land to him sold by John Baptist
Cheshire
aforesaid, the possession of which is hereby acknowledged hath
granted,
bargained and sold unto the said John Baptist Cheshire and by these
present doth grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the same, his heirs
and
assigns all that tract or parcel of Land now in the actual possession of
said
John Baptist Chesshire, situate and being in the Township of LaFayette
and
Court of Floyd, containing One (1) Rod and Thirty-seven (37)
Perches,
bounded on the South and West by Mr. Thomas Pier's land; on the North
by King's land and on the East by John Baptist Chesshire's land and the
creek,
together with all and singular the premises and apputenances
thereunto
belonging or in anywise appurtaining.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the land hereby conveyed, with the
appurtenances,
unto the said John Baptist Chesshire, his heirs and assigns forever; and
the
Thomas Piers for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, the
aforesaid
tract of land and premises unto the said John B. Chesshire, his heirs and
assigns
against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever
doth
and will warrant and forever defend by these presents.
· IN WITNESS whereof the said Thomas Piers hath
· hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above
written.

· On the 5th of April, one thousand eight hundred and
thirty-six
· Thomas Piers and Eleanor, his wife, the Grantors named in
· the within Deed of Conveyance personally appeared before me; John
Coleman,
· a Justice of the Peace of said County and Severaly acknowledged
the
· signing and sealing of the same as their act and deed for the
purposes
therein expressed; and the said Eleanor having been made known to
the
contents of said Deed and being by me examined separate and apart from
her husband, declared that she voluntarily and of her own free will
and
accord, without fear of coercion of her husband, did and now doth
as-
knowledge the signing and sealing thereof.
