This site is a retreat for avid genealogists, Civil War buffs, and local historians. Here you will find research on the Civil War and how it impacted local history in East Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and North Georgia. As time permits, I will add information representing many years of research. Of particular interest is the 3rd Tennessee Mounted Infantry Regiment, USA. To my knowledge, the following information is not available per se, i.e. arranged into companies and alphabetized by surnames of mustered soldiers, thus facilitating research. Personal information about individual soldiers, such as birth and death dates and burial sites, will be added as links. You are invited to participate in this continuing project by sending information about your relative who served in any of the following companies. All proven vital statistics regarding your relative are welcomed and will be added to the site. Bookmark and visit often as new data will be added as time permits!
