Sandra Jo (Nipper) Ratledge, 69, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at her residence after an extended illness.
A native of McMinn County, and a resident of Cleveland since 1971, she was a daughter of the late Tommy and Beulah Cline Nipper.
She graduated from McMinn County High School and held a BA from Tennessee Wesleyan College and a Master's of Education from the University of Tennessee. She was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher from the Cleveland City School System. She was a member of various educational associations, both local and national.
Survivors include her huisband of 48 years, Stephen Ratledge of Cleveland; one son, Shane Stephen Ratledge of Tallahassee, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Jaquetta N. and Ron Culberson of Nashville; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Huffer officiating. The interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home.
