Little is known of St Buryan. She is identified with one Bruniec, a Kings daughter from Ireland.
400-About is thought to have come over to Cornwall with St Piran and others
464-Another legend suggests that she was a friend of St Patrick and if so she would of come to Cornwall this year and landed at Pendinas, a peninsula and stony rok, wher now the ton of St Iea (St Ives) standeth.
The Exeter Martrology (12th century) says "By the merits of St Beriona the Virgin. a son of King Gerontius was healed of paralysis".
