Thomas Forman Aitken came to Australia on the "City of Sydney" in 1854 bound for Melbourne and Sydney. His first employment was a gold miner at Steiglitz Victoria where he met Julia and her Brother and his family. He married Julia Francome 12 jun 1856 St Paul's Geelong, Victoria, Aust. He worked in a Timber mill at Daylesford , moved to Drumborg Victoria and carried on the timber milling business. They had ten children.
