A. BURNISON
Suspended 10 days for running engine 71 through switch No. 6 in Huntington yards on Dec. 11th, 1889. Warned to be more careful in starting his train on account of damage to cars at Highlands Jan. 5th (Report A.55). Censured for damaging cars at 51st Street Yard, Jan. 11th, 1890 (Report A.154). Severely censured for running through switch at Spencerville, April 18th and advised a repetition would result in suspension.
Suspended 20 days Jan. 18th (1891) for failure to look out for safety of his train while coming down hill with 2nd 81, the night of January 9th about 7:30 p.m. Train broke in two while coming through cut east of Huntington and as the head end was making its stop for target, rear end came down and ran into the forward portion, throwing three cars down the bank and also throwing dead engine U.P. 1507 off track. Burnison allowed his brakeman to go out on top of train without lantern. Rear brakeman on cars could not properly locate head end of train. It was dark and snowing at the time accident occurred.
