Commenced as extra brakeman Dec. 3, 1888. Was promoted to conductor January 16, 1889. Was suspended for one week on account of running through switch in Huntington yard. Taken off Feb. 1st, 1889. Suspended 10 days for leaving switch open at Hammond Yard on Dec. 15, 1889 after setting out some cars. Suspended 30 days for attempting to back out of side track on train No. 81 at Leiters after No. 3 had passed, January 13, 1890. He failed to properly protect his train and was run into by Wabash train, Engine 335, which was following No. 3 too close.

Suspended 10 days for his allowing his train to run into head section at Rochester tank, March 19, 1891. Suspended 10 days from Aug. 1st for bucking against his engineer. Reprimanded April 14th, 1892 for setting two southbound loads on east "Y" at DeLong on April 4, 1892. Suspended 10 days for hauling M.A.C. 712 from Huntington to Hammond without a bill and out of route, April 26, 1892. Car destined for St. Louis via Wabash.

Reprimanded for failing to fill out to a full train at North Judson on 3rd 83 of May 21, 1892. Reprimanded for trying to stake car by him with engine in LNA&C "Y" at Wilders on June 22, 1892. Resulted in a derailment. Suspended 10 days from April 7th for leaving main track switch at Palmer open March 21st, 1893. Reprimanded Sept. 25, 1893 for delay to correspondence, held papers in his possession seven days. Suspended 10 days from Oct. 29th for leaving main track switch against No. 2 at Hammond on Extra 513 West on Oct. 8th, 1893.

Reprimanded March 15th for causing delay to a CCC&StL passenger train at Bolivar, March 2nd, 1894, by leaving his train on derail while switching in the "Y". Reprimanded March 15th for allowing his train to stand on derail at Bolivar March 2nd, 1894 while switching the "Y", causing delay to a Big 4 passenger train.

Reprimanded for taking HRT 0902, meat for Bradford, PA into train 94 at Hammond on April 17th, 1894 between his Jersey City cars in violation of bulletin 129. Suspended 7 days for running from Winfield to Palmer on short time against No. 1 on 1st 86, Sept. 26th, 1894. Suspended 10 days from May 9th for making a running switch at Laketon on Extra 706 West, May 2, 1896, same resulting in an accident.

Suspended 7 days from Sept. 18th for failure to fill out to a full train at Hammond on 81, Sept. 6th and 87, Sept. 8th, 1896. Suspended one round trip for hauling IR Co. 271 from Chicago to Huntington on bill for IR Co. 27, in effect March 26th, 1897. (Carried to page 192)
