Meadville Division Engineer B.B. Byers, running engine #1695 with fireman C.E. Ferguson, was listed as being in the Order of the Red Spot for January, 1915. The Order was an honor bestowed on engine crews who operated efficiently with few engine failures.

From the February, 1931 issue of Erie Railroad Magazine:
Benjamin Byers, 61, former Erie engineer at Oil City and Meadville, died last month in the former city.
